Every year, elite quarterbacks are committing earlier and earlier, and Auburn landed a big-time commitment Saturday night from four-star 2018 quarterback Joey Gatewood.

The Jacksonville, Florida, native is ranked as the country’s No. 2 dual-threat quarterback for the class of ’18, according to 247Sports’ player rankings. The 6-3, 206-pound signal caller hasn’t attended a game at Auburn yet, but I’d say he’ll attend quite a few in the coming years.

“It’s the place I really thought I could see myself at in the future,” Gatewood told 247Sports. “It’s a great program run by great people and great coaches. It’s great to be a Tiger.”

Gatewood is the prototypical Gus Malzahn quarterback, and he chose the Tigers over Florida State.
