Auburn and coach Hugh Freeze are entering a pivotal season during the time that Freeze has been the head coach. He enters the 2025-26 season with a record of 11-14 in his first 2 years, with the team falling under .500 in both of those seasons.
For the Tigers, the transfer portal has been big in bringing in more talent. The Tigers have already brought in guys like Jackson Arnold and Eric Singleton. However, you can never have too much talent coming in, and Auburn got another big time commitment on Wednesday as Tulane transfer CB Rayshawn Pleasant decided on AU as his new team.
Pleasant is a talented cornerback, as he finished with 35 tackles and 1 interception last season. However, it is as a kick returner where he is special. Last season, Pleasant was named an All-American, as he took back 13 kicks for 449 yards and 2 touchdowns.
For Auburn under Freeze, the team has really struggled to put up points. The Tigers have brought in guys that can help fix that, but having a guy like Pleasant can make the job much easier for the offense.
The transfer portal is in full effect right now, as teams are doing everything they can to get ready for next season. Guys like Pleasant can be difference makers, and getting him is a big win for Freeze.
