Auburn lands commitment from Top 70 prospect and nation’s No. 3 guard prospect

Auburn is closing in on signing the nation’s top offensive line class after landing yet another elite prospect Saturday, this time from Navarre, Fla., prospect Nick Brahms. The 2017 U.S. Army All-American selection committed to the Tigers over finalists Tennessee, Miami and North Carolina while participating at the prestigious The Opening Finals camp at Nike world headquarters in Oregon.
Brahms’ announcement was made live on ESPNU Saturday night.

Listed at 6-foot-4, 285-pounds, Brahms is rated as a four-star prospect, the No. 69 overall player in the nation and the No. 3 offensive guard, according to 247Sports.
Brahms adds to an already impressive offensive line class for the Tigers, who already have commitments from elite offensive tackle prospects Calvin Ashley (five-star) and Austin Troxell (Alabama’s No. 2 prospect). At this point, Auburn’s offseason addition of offensive line coach Herb Hand — formerly of Penn State — clearly seems to be paying off for the Tigers on the recruiting trail.
“Coach Hand is a great coach,” Brahms said according to Jeffrey Lee of Auburn Sports. “He’s a great guy. I always enjoy seeing him and talking with him. He’s a family man and someone that I look forward to learning and playing under.
“I see a lot of success in the near future with Auburn. I’m ready to be a Tiger.”

The offensive lineman looks to be a devastating run blocker at the high school level, something that makes him an obvious fit in Gus Malzahn’s offensive system at Auburn:
Auburn now has 11 total commitments lined up for its 2017 recruiting class, six of which are either four or five-star prospects.
