With Auburn losing its three starting linebackers from a season ago, Tre’ Williams was expected to step up and fulfill a starting role from both a production and experience standpoint.

However, an injury has slowed this progression considerably.

Via a report from 247sports, Williams missed practice on Wednesday. This comes on the heels of the junior ‘backer missing Tuesday’s fall scrimmage with what’s being deemed as an ankle injury.

According to fellow linebacker Darrell Williams, “there’s really no telling when he may be back. He’s just taking it as a process.”

Auburn can only hope Williams gets back sooner than later. He accrued 51 tackles a season ago in a reserve role.
