John Franklin III could start the season as Auburn’s quarterback, but his road to the Division I powerhouse was a long one.
Franklin originally committed to Florida State, but left when Everett Golson joined the Seminoles.
He played last year at East Mississippi Community College, where he threw for 733 yards and seven touchdowns and added 451 yards and nine touchdowns on the ground.
EMCC is the subject of a Netflix documentary called “Last Chance U,” which comes to Netflix on July 29. As the team’s quarterback, Franklin is prominently featured.
