The No. 9 team in the nation is being forced to switch it up at the game’s most important position, for a league game no less, as incumbent starting quarterback Sean White was reportedly injured last weekend in the Ole Miss game. With White out, John Franklin III made his first career start for Auburn against Vanderbilt.

White did dress for the Vanderbilt game however, according to the ESPN broadcast, team doctors have indicated “he may not be available” to play against the Commodores.

In his first season with Auburn, after transferring in from junior college, Franklin has rushed for far more yards (256) than he has thrown for (85) after eight games. Franklin was one of the stars of the Netflix reality documentary series Last Chance U. Franklin signed with Florida State out of high school before leaving the Seminoles for junior college.
