Auburn has revealed the program’s full schedule for the annual A-Day festivities to be held on April 12. However, any fans hoping for a traditional spring game will be a bit disappointed.

On Tuesday, Auburn revealed there will be something described as “A-Day Spring Practice” at 12 pm local time. That event will run for one hour with a post-practice Fan Day event inside Jordan-Hare Stadium.

An alumni flag football game will also be held prior to the spring practice. Per Auburn’s release, the actual structure “will look more like a traditional practice” than a game.

Fans are also encouraged to stick around for Auburn softball and baseball, which will face Georgia (3 pm) and LSU (6 pm), respectively, on Saturday.

The Tigers are just the latest team, particularly in the SEC, to announce a change in format to the traditional spring game model. Mizzou even confirmed there will not be any practice event open to fans this spring due to ongoing stadium renovations.

The reasons behind the shift vary from coach to coach. For some programs, finding enough depth along the line of scrimmage due to injuries and the transfer portal has been a struggle, while coaches more recently have been blaming the changes on not wanting to lose players due to tampering.

Regardless of the reasons, it will be a new look for A-Day this spring.
