Auburn is set to hire an off-field staffer from an SEC rival as Hugh Freeze builds out his staff.
Will Redmond, LSU’s director of player personnel, is heading to Auburn, according to ESPN’s Pete Thamel. FootballScoop reported that Redmond would be Auburn’s new general manager.
Redmond joined the LSU football staff in 2021 and he was in charge of maintaining LSU’s recruiting board, identifying players from across the country as potential prospects. He also oversees prospect evaluations and monitoring prospects throughout the year, according to his LSU bio.
Redmond previously worked at Kansas, Middle Tennessee and Western Michigan.

Redmond earned bachelor’s and masters degrees from Tennessee. Redmond got his start in the industry working at Tennessee in the media relations department, and later with the Tennessee football recruiting staff as an analyst overseeing the recruitment of prospects.
