Auburn is counting on big things from RB Jovon Robinson in 2016.

The senior ran for 639 yards and three touchdowns last season, but will step into the feature back role this year.

In 2017, though, the Tigers face some questions at the running back position. Auburn just picked up Kam Martin, a former Baylor signee, and will also have Kerryon Johnson and Malik Miller to work with.

But, according to an AL.com article, Auburn running backs coach Tim Horton said the Tigers want to add more backs to the mix in 2017:

“In the upcoming class, we’ll sign at least two (running backs) and possibly one that could be a, quote, ‘athlete,’ someone that could play multiple positions,” Horton said in May. “So we’re going to sign at least two running backs in that class.”

Auburn will add JUCO transfer Octavius Matthews next season, and also has four-star athlete Alaric Williams in its 2017 class. However, the Tigers are still pursuing five-star RB Cam Akers and four-star RB Ty Chandler, among others.
