Ayden Williams, a 4-star wide receiver out of Ridgeland, Mississippi, has announced a commitment to play in the SEC after he had plenty of interest from schools across the league.
Williams, who is listed at 6-foot-3 and 195 pounds, committed to Ole Miss, as South Carolina, Tennessee, Auburn and Colorado were among his 16 offers. He is ranked the No. 24 wide receiver in the class, and the No. 2 player in the state of Mississippi, according to the 247Sports Composite.
Williams made his announcement on the 247Sports’ YouTube Channel on Sunday afternoon.
“What stands out, every time we go down there, they treat me and my family well,” Williams said. “They treat me and the guys well when we go down there. Coach Nix (I’ve) built a great relationship with him. Coach Bolden, they showed me how I fit in the offense and I feel like I have the best chance to succeed at the University of Mississippi.”
Williams noted that Ole Miss has produced NFL wide receivers.
“Lane Kiffin, he’s probably one of the best offensive minds in the country, so he finds ways to get his best players the ball, and I feel like I’ll put in that work,” Williams said. “They’ll find ways to get me the ball and I’ll be the next great receiver to come out of Oxford.”
