Barion Brown spoke with the media ahead of returning to his hometown for the Music City Bowl as Kentucky will take on Iowa.

Brown attended Pearl-Cohn High School in Nashville and was asked about returning to the city.

“Wonderful feeling,” said Brown. “When I found out the news I was happy.” Brown mentioned that many friends and family were unable to make the trip to Lexington, so he is grateful for the opportunity to play close to home.

Brown also spoke on the “Nashville-to-Lexington pipeline,” as the Wildcats have 6 players from the Nashville area on the roster. “Nashville wanted to see us on the same team,” said Brown.

Brown had a breakout season for the Wildcats this year, and he finished the regular season with 45 catches for 604 yards and 4 TDs. Brown led the team in receptions and receiving yards.

Brown’s Wildcats will face the Iowa Hawkeyes in the Music City Bowl at noon ET on Dec. 31.
