Tennessee defensive back with starting experience reportedly enters transfer portal
Tennessee defensive back Baylen Buchanan is in the transfer portal and looking for a landing spot as a grad transfer, according to a report by 247Sports.
Buchanan has not played any games since the 2018 season due to injury.
The cornerback was recruited to Knoxville by Butch Jones but started all 12 games for Tennessee in Jeremy Pruitt’s first season, and was plugged into several different spots in the defensive backfield.
Buchanan took a medical redshirt in 2019 and opted out of 2020, but has played a lot of football for the Vols since signing in the recruiting class of 2016.
Wherever Buchanan lands will receive an experienced player with medical issues that have held him out of the past two seasons.
