Baylor QB Seth Russell has a bone fracture in his neck, may impact playoff chase

Baylor still hasn’t lost a football game yet this season, but the Bears may have lost their quarterback and that could have a huge impact on the College Football Playoff.
QB Seth Russell had X-rays and a CT scan after a big hit. The results were not good.

Baylor beat Iowa State 45-27 Saturday for its 20th straight home win.
Russell sustained a strained neck on a 4-yard run without about 5½ minutes left.
“He’s a tough guy. It’s hard to see tough guys hurt,” Baylor coach Art Briles said.

TCU folks, Baylor’s biggest rival these days for Big 12 superiority, was classy after the injury. They wished Russell well and hope he’s back for the Nov. 27 showdown.
