Report: Former Texas A&M DL Michael Bennett indicted by grand jury for bizarre Super Bowl incident

According to a report from KHOU11, former Texas A&M and recent Philadelphia Eagles free agent signee Michael Bennett was indicted by a Harris County grand jury on Friday.
That stemmed from an alleged incident at the Super Bowl. Bennett, who was at the game in Minnesota as a spectator to watch his brother Martellus Bennett play for the New England Patriots, was reportedly was indicted on a felony charge of injury of the elderly for injuring a 66-year-old paraplegic who was working at NRG Stadium to manage field access.
Prosecutors claimed that Bennett tried to get to the area that players were celebrating by shoving his way through. The report said that Bennett “pushed through NRG Stadium security” after they told him he had to use a different entrance, but he also pushed the elderly woman.

If convicted of intentionally and knowingly causing bodily injury to a person 65 years of age or older, Bennett will face up to ten years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
A warrant was issued for Bennett’s arrest.
That was less than 4 days after the 3-time Pro Bowl selection was introduced as the defending Super Bowl champs’ big free agency acquisition. The former undrafted Aggie was set to enter his 10th NFL season.
