It’s no secret the SEC is one of the toughest and most prestigious to play across college football. So it wasn’t surprising that three of the teams listed in 247Sports’ most dominant programs of the last decade were SEC teams.
Within the top 10 were Alabama (No. 1), Georgia (No. 4) and LSU (No. 6). Other teams from outside conferences that made the list were Ohio State (No. 2), Clemson (No. 3), Oklahoma (No. 5), Notre Dame (No. 7), Florida State (No. 8), Oregon (No. 9) and Oklahoma State (No. 10).
Over the past decade, Alabama has won 4 national championships, produced a winning percentage of .908 over the past 10 seasons and sent 94 NFL Draft selections on to the next level. The Crimson Tide have taken home a total of 18 national titles since it originally came into existence.

“Owner of six national titles since taking over at Alabama prior to the 2007 season, Nick Saban has produced more championships and NFL Draft picks than any other head coach over the past decade and his path to excellence is mimicked by just about every colleague who has coached under him — or at least attempted,” Brad Crawford wrote.
“Alabama has won 11 or more games every year since 2011 and has finished inside the top 10 of the final AP Poll every year during that span. Since the College Football Playoff inception, the Crimson Tide have missed out on the final four only once (2019) when they won the Citrus Bowl against Michigan.”
Over the past 10 years, Georgia has won a single national title, recorded a .791 winning percentage and has produced 72 NFL Draft selections. In the same span of time, LSU has also recorded one national championship victory, has put up a .709 winning percentage and has produced 81 NFL Draft selections.
