Here’s a look at the best classes by position on offense in the Southeastern Conference for the 2016 recruiting cycle.
QUARTERBACK: Georgia
You could make a strong case for a number of programs here, but incoming Bulldogs signal caller Jacob Eason was the top prospect at his position nationally and could very well be the starting signal caller during the first year of the Kirby Smart era.
Also considered: Auburn, Florida, Ole Miss
RUNNING BACK: Alabama
It wasn’t a particularly strong cycle at this position, but the Crimson Tide landed stud North Carolina tailback B.J. Emmons (a prototypical Bama back) and also got one of the biggest senior risers in the country — Oklahoma all-purpose back Joshua Jacobs. Those two could be the future Derrick Henry/Kenyan Drake type of combo.

WIDE RECEIVER: Ole Miss
A.J. Brown and DeKaylin Metcalf are two in-state signees with excellent size and upside. Brown’s stock rose dramatically after his senior year, which included a dynamic performance in the Under Armour All-America Game. Tre Nixon, out of the state of Florida, is an elite route runner with exceptional quickness and hands.

TIGHT END: Georgia
Just like with quarterback, this is a one-man group, but the one is the top prospect at the position and the No. 12 prospect overall — Isaac Nauta. Plus, he’s already enrolled and should make an impact this coming season barring something unforeseen like injury.

OFFENSIVE LINE: Alabama
Five-star offensive tackle Jonah Williams and JUCO tackle transfer Charles Baldwin are both elite offensive line prospects and have already enrolled at Bama, as has offensive guard Chris Owens. Massive guard Deonte Brown (350 pounds) also highlights this group.
