LSU has one of the top wideouts in the 2024 cycle currently committed to its class, but that commitment appears to be more of a placeholder. Fairburn (Ga.) Langston Hughes wideout Joseph Stone told On3’s Jeremy Johnson he has not shut down his recruitment.
“My recruitment is not closed. If you’re interested in me, we’re building a relationship,” he said, per Johnson. “Schools have been tapping in a lot.”
Stone took an unofficial visit to LSU in June of last year. He walked away with a scholarship offer, and a month later he pulled the trigger and gave the Tigers his verbal commitment.
He’s a 4-star wideout in the 2024 class, according to the industry-generated 247 Composite. Stone is regarded as a top-150 prospect in the class and the No. 22 wideout. He’s also the 22nd-ranked recruit from the state of California.
The Tigers have eight known commitments so far for the 2024 class. Stone is the second-highest-ranked recruit in the group. He currently holds more than 20 offers from Power Five programs.
Derek Peterson does a bit of everything, not unlike Taysom Hill. He has covered Oklahoma, Nebraska, the Pac-12, and now delivers CFB-wide content.
