Update: Fox Sports’ Bruce Feldman reported that Shoop received a three-year contract extension from Penn State that will pay him close to $1 million annually.
It appears LSU can cross another name off the list in its search for defensive coordinator. After Bob Shoop reportedly interviewed for the job on Wednesday, the Penn State defensive coordinator let Nittany Lions fans know that he wasn’t going anywhere.

Ross Dellenger of the Advocate (Baton Rouge, La.) confirmed through his sources that Shoop did in fact interview with Les Miles on Wednesday, but the above message implies that Shoop is out of the running. Many considered Shoop a favorite for the job, and it was reported that he was interested in moving to LSU.

There is still plenty of interest in the job. Defensive line coach Brick Haley is reportedly a candidate, while LSU is also reportedly interested in Alabama linebackers coach Kevin Steele.
