Brady Cook status: CFB insider shares latest on Mizzou QB for South Carolina game
Brady Cook’s Missouri Tigers are gearing up for an SEC matchup with the South Carolina Gamecocks in Week 12. The star quarterback has been listed as doubtful on the team’s injury report, however, after missing last weekend’s Oklahoma game with a wrist injury.
Ahead of Saturday’s tilt, ESPN’s Pete Thamel is reporting that Cook is a true game-time decision. The QB is going to warm up on the field before the game and see how his wrist responds.
Sources: Missouri quarterback Brady Cook is expected to be a true game-time decision at South Carolina today, as he’s expected to attempt to play. Cook suffered his injury against Alabama last month. The QB had to leave the game and then was unable to play in the next game against Oklahoma.
Even without Cook, the Tigers were able to get a win over the Sooners. Drew Pyne came in and threw for 143 yards and 3 TDs. If Cook can’t go in Week 12, it’s expected that Pyne will get the start again.
In 2024, Cook has thrown for 1,575 yards with 7 TDs and 1 INT. The Tigers enter Week 12 with a 7-2 overall record and a 3-2 mark in conference play. South Carolina, Mississippi State, and Arkansas are the remaining opponents for Missouri.
The Tigers have won 5 in a row against the Gamecocks. Overall, the Tigers have won 9 times out of 14 times playing the Gamecocks.
This game will kick off from Williams-Brice Stadium at 4:15 p.m. ET.
