Brady Cook was determined to lead Mizzou to victory in Week 8 against Auburn. Cook may not be up for Week 9 against Alabama.
ESPN’s Pete Thamel reported Wednesday that Cook is considered doubtful for Saturday’s showdown in Tuscaloosa between the No. 15 Crimson Tide and No. 21 Tigers. Per Thamel, Cook has been extremely limited by the ankle injury he suffered against Auburn. Though Cook may try to go, Thamel reports that the Mizzou quarterback’s outlook is “pessimistic” as of Wednesday evening.

The ankle injury suffered in the 1st half sent Cook to the hospital. An emotional Eli Drinkwitz shared after the game that Cook told his Tiger teammates that with 2.5 home games remaining in his Mizzou career, he wasn’t going to spend the 2nd half in the hospital.
Cook returned against Auburn and led MU on 2 scoring drives to overcome a double-digit deficit and win 21-17 to improve to 6-1 on the season. A graduate student in his 5th year at Mizzou, Cook has started 34 consecutive games for the Tigers dating back to the 2022 season.
The Alabama-Mizzou game is set to kick off at 3:30 p.m. ET, airing on ABC.
