Usually signings do not occur until February, leaving coaches to worry that their recruits might get flipped or change their minds or be subject to the whims of 18 year olds. Putting pen to paper is an incredible relief.

Four-star quarterback prospect Brandon McIlwain officially signed with South Carolina on Tuesday, his father announced on Twitter:

McIlwain is a four-star quarterback prospect from Newtown, Pennsylvania. He is rated as the 14th best quarterback in the nation according to Rivals.
His early enrollment will allow him to participate in spring practice. But McIlwain also reportedly will play baseball at South Carolina too. He turned down a chance to play professional baseball to enroll at South Carolina.
