Brantley Gilbert is ready to get a Georgia national championship tattoo, but he’s naturally nervous ahead of Monday night’s national title game.
Gilbert, who won the ACM New Male Artist award in 2013, recently joined former UGA quarterback Aaron Murray for an interview. Sirius XM College released a clip with Gilbert explaining why he’s nervous as a Bulldog fan entering Monday night.
“Man, I’m nervous, just because Alabama is Alabama,” Gilbert said.
The country star continued, “(Nick) Saban’s a beast. We can’t not acknowledge that that program is un-freakin-believable.”
Gilbert said he hopes to see Georgia play like it did in the 13 games it won.
“Just play like they played the rest of the season,” Gilbert said. “Alabama’s whole season was riding on that game (the SEC Championship Game). Maybe we didn’t have as much to lose from it. Maybe that got them geared up and they’ll come in the second time and wear them out.”
