Video: Brent Musburger makes Mormon joke, ‘stanky leg’ makes bowl appearance
From a “stanky leg” juke to Mormons wanting to drink, the first day of bowl season brought us some rather silly and entertaining quips from the broadcast booth.
Early bowl season always is good for a few quirks and unusual twists.
Louisiana Tech receiver Carlos Henderson made a nice juke during the New Orleans Bowl — on a Jeff Driskel pass, no less — and the broadcasters dubbed it a “stanky leg,” a dance move popularized in 2009.

Then, Brent Musburger came up with another memorable sequence while broadcasting the Las Vegas Bowl, a reincarnation of the “Holy War.”
BYU made a game of it late, but Utah stomped to a 35-0 lead in the first quarter. Musburger referenced the team’s Mormon roots and opined that the BYU faithful probably wished it could consume some alcohol with the way the game was going.
Yes, Musburger went there.
