On Monday, Arkansas head coach Bret Bielema revealed two good bits of news on the injury front.
Not only will star linebacker Dre Greenlaw return from injury to feature in the Belk Bowl versus Virginia Tech, but running back Kody Walker will also be available for the game.
A sixth-year senior out of Missouri, Walker got injured during the Oct. 8 loss to Alabama. It didn’t appear as if Walker would ever play again. He’s undergone eight surgeries during his career in Fayetteville.
However, Bielema divulged a very cheerful update (as told to SEC Country):
“[Walker] popped out here and did really well yesterday. I think we’ll back off him considerably today knowing tomorrow is a walk through. Friday we’ll shine and polish. I think you’ll see him for sure on game day.”
Fellow running back Rawleigh Williams III also appeared elated at the possibility of Walker coming back into the fold:
“[I’m] so excited. That’s my big brother. To have him in our room again, and to have him practicing with us, it’s something to give us all a little extra boost because we want to see him out with a win in his last college football game.”
On the year, the 6-foot-2, 240-pounder has rushed for 110 yards and one touchdown on 31 carries.
