Bret Bielema helping Arkansas move forward after loss to ‘complete Texas A&M team’
Following a deflating loss to Texas A&M, a team Arkansas has struggled with in recent years, the Razorbacks are looking to turn the page at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock on Saturday.
Arkansas had continued to build momentum in 2016, including a thrilling overtime victory at TCU, but suffered a setback against the Aggies. The Razorbacks and Aggies have had some classic battle in recent years, but Bret Bielema said on Wednesday’s SEC coaches teleconference that Texas A&M is on a different level than other seasons.
“I think that’s the most complete Texas A&M team that I’ve faced – offense, defense and special teams,” he said.
Aggies quarterback Trevor Knight was particularly impressive to the Razorbacks coach after he led the team on the ground and through the air, gaining 382 yards and 4 total touchdowns.
Now, Bielema wants his players to move on from a loss that he knows stings more than most due to higher expectations.
“Whenever you have success it’s very rewarding, but whenever you have failure it’s very disappointing,” Bielema said on Wednesday’s SEC coaches teleconference. “I told those guys they’ve got to own it, embrace it.” “We can’t bring that loss home with us.”
