Brian Branch received a thunderous roar from Detroit Lions fans during defensive player introductions last weekend when they got set to play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The ovation was among the loudest for the Detroit defenders, especially after hometown hero Aidan Hutchinson.
“It means they believe in me,” Branch said, according to 97.1 The Ticket. “It shows that they respect my game. I ain’t get that at Bama. For them to do that, it means a lot.”
Branch has played in 15 games this season for the Lions with 67 tackles, a sack and 3 interceptions including a touchdown.
The Lions traded up to take Branch, a nickel corner out of Alabama, with the 45th pick in the second round. Branch at Alabama was one of 2 players in recent seasons to defend at least 20 passes and have 4 sacks over the previous 3 seasons.
