Brian Kelly knows LSU will need to improve in the second half if the program wants to secure a season-opening win against Florida State.

Heading into halftime, the Tigers hold a 17-14 edge over the Seminoles. However, LSU has missed on some key 3rd-down attempts and missed on a pair of 4th-down tries.

Kelly delivered his halftime remarks while leaving the field and admitted it’s clear the Tigers were not effective overall in the first half. In the end, he said LSU needs to be more decisive on offense and disciplined in the reads, but Kelly also believes the Tigers will be fine after the break.

“We have not been efffective obviously. We had the big opening drive and weren’t able to cash in. We’ve gotta be more decisive in whether we give the ball or pull it, and I think we’ve gotten away from what our reads are. We’re just trying to do a little bit too much. we’ll settle down here, we’ll go through it again, and just be more disciplined with our reads and we’ll be fine.”

Jayden Daniels accounted for nearly 250 yards of total offense in the first half but did not have a touchdown. On the other side of the matchup, Jordan Travis has just 190 yards of offense at the break but has thrown a pair of touchdowns.
