Brian Kelly has high expectations for the LSU Tigers heading into the 2025 season, now that 2024 is officially in the books.
According to the Tigers head coach, who some have considered to be on the hot seat by now, his team has national championship aspirations in 2025. Such is the expectation and standard for LSU, which was was last on that stage at the end of the 2019 season.
LSU failed to meet expectations in 2024 though, with embarrassing losses to teams like the Florida Gators in games they were favored in. But what stands out most to Kelly and could make this team a contender is the way they have shown resiliency.
“I didn’t come down here to go 8-4,” Kelly said. “I’m not happy about 8-4. Nobody in that room is happy about being 8-4. What they’re happy about is that they played well after a 3-game losing streak. And they bounced back. This game teaches you lessons about grit and toughness and perseverance.”

Whether or not LSU rises to the occasion next season remains to be seen.
