Brian Kelly’s LSU Tigers suffered a brutal loss in Week 12, falling to the Florida Gators by a score of 27-16. It was a frustrating night for the Tigers, who fell to 6-4 on the season.
Late in the 3rd quarter, that frustration boiled over. Star wide receiver Kyren Lacy was seen screaming at Kelly as he walked off the field, which appeared to catch Kelly by surprise.

The Lacy incident happened as the game was tied at 13 and the Tigers were forced to punt. On Monday, Kelly was asked about the incident during an appearance on The Paul Finebaum Show.
Per the coach, Lacy was yelling because he “wanted the football.” Then, the coach added that he loves when his players show emotion.
“I love that about our players. Any competitor wants the football,” said Kelly. “You have to be able to measure it by making sure that the emotion doesn’t take over what you’re trying to accomplish at the time.”

Lacy ended the night with just 3 catches for 43 yards. It was his 2nd lowest output of the season, and the Tigers’ offense wasn’t able to do enough without Lacy having a big night. The Louisiana transfer leads the Tigers in catches, receiving yards, and TDs.
The next test for the Tigers will be in Week 13 against Vanderbilt.
