Brian Kelly called quarterback Jayden Daniels “elite” and “amazing” on Monday after a big win over Auburn.

“I hope for our fans, they’re taking it in. I know 2019 is still a trend-setter because it led to a national championship and rightfully so. I mean those were great players. You should not take this for granted. This is pretty remarkable stuff,” Kelly told the media on Monday regarding Daniels.

The Tigers senior quarterback leads the nation in total yards, and he leads the FBS in passer rating. He has 2,294 yards passing for 22 TDs versus 3 interceptions plus 515 yards rushing and 4 TDs.

Daniels leads the FBS for passer rating at 197.7, and he’s a rising candidate for the Heisman Trophy. He’s the leader of an explosive offense that scores 45.3 points per game and piles on 550.4 yards per contest.

“It’s fun to watch an offense like that,” Kelly said.

Work still remains though. Daniels threw his 3rd pick of the season against Auburn but proved inconsequential in a 48-18 win.

“He threw an interception, so he is human. He was expecting another route to be run in that situation, and it didn’t happen,” Kelly said.

Daniels can clean that up and keep soaring this Saturday against Army.
