Bryce Young injury update: Alabama QB heads to medical tent with apparent injury

Bryce Young appeared to suffer a right shoulder injury early in the second quarter, and it sent the Alabama QB to the injury tent on the Alabama sideline.

On the previous series, Young was tackled as he was tackled by Drew Sanders near the Arkansas sideline.

CBS analyst Gary Danielson speculated at first that it was a “dead shoulder” and then that it could be a rotator cuff injury, which Danielson himself said he suffered.

It came when Alabama led 14-0 early in the second quarter.

Young was 7-for-13 passing for 173 yards with a touchdown and an interception.

Jalen Milroe replaced Young, and rushed for a touchdown to cap the scoring drive.

After the first quarter, Young had 159 passing yards and was 6-for-10 through the air. Freshmen receivers Kobe Prentince, with 3 catches for 92 yards and a touchdown, and Isaiah Bond, who had a catch for 53 yards, stole the show.

On the “SEC on CBS” broadcast, sideline reporter Jenny Dell said she heard a “very extreme yell” from the reigning Heisman Trophy winner as he threw his helmet down and went into the tent. Young threw his helmet on the way to the tent.

With the touchdown by Milroe, Alabama led 21-0 with 8:29 remaining in the first half.
