Handed out to the top walk-on in the country each season, the Burlsworth Trophy has officially announced the nominees for the 2022 campaign.
The Burlsworth Trophy, named after former Arkansas All-American offensive lineman Brandon Burlsworth, has been given out each year since 2010. Burlsworth, who became the face of the Hogs’ offensive line, went from being a scout team lineman to future NFL Draft selection before tragically passing away in 1999.

Bennett might be the most recognizable walk-on in recent college football memory. After losing the starting job to JT Daniels in 2020, Bennett remained on the roster and competed for QB1 reps last fall. Following an injury to Daniels, Bennett returned to the starting role and led Georgia to its first national title win since 1980.
Williams, a native of Texas, walked on at LSU and has become the lead back for the Tigers this season. Through 8 games, Williams has rushed for 305 yards and 4 touchdowns off 66 carries. His best game came against Florida when he rushed for a career-high 106 yards off 14 carries.
The award will be given out on Dec. 5 at the Crystal Bridges Museum in Bentonville, Arkansas.
