Just one year after giving head coach Butch Jones an extension, Tennessee has again shown its dedication to its third-year coach by giving him a raise.

According to the Associated Press, Jones will receive a $500,000 per year raise, which bumps his annual salary to $4.1 million on a contract that runs through the 2020 season.

Tennessee athletics director Dave Hart was quoted as saying the following in a statement:

”We have the right leader to get us to our ultimate destination, and we are rewarding him accordingly.”

Jones took over a Tennessee program that missed a bowl game in 2011 and has since posted a 20-17 record as the leader of the Vols.

He enjoyed his best season with the Vols in 2015, winning the final five games of the regular season to finish at 8-4.
