Intimidation comes in all forms. Tennessee’s Jeremiah Crawford might have just won the weirdest way to strike fear into an opponent.

Crawford, the Vols’ backup tackle, replaced Gerald Mincey in the 2nd half of Saturday’s epic showdown against No. 3 Alabama. During a drive in the 4th quarter, Crawford puked in front of Crimson Tide defensive lineman Byron Young, then shrugged off the action as if it was common.

Spoiler alert, Young was shocked at Crawford’s action.

“We were actually talking right before he threw up. I don’t remember what we were talking about, but then he looked away for a second, then he just threw up and then he looked at me,” Young said, via 247Sports’ Charlie Potter. “I just told him he was nasty.”

Was the puking planned? Did Crawford know his Gatorade guzzled on the sidelines would be coming up on the field? Maybe so. Even if he didn’t, the plan worked.

Alabama recorded just 1 sack on Heisman hopeful Hendon Hooker en route to the first “Third Saturday in October” victory for Tennessee since 2006. Hooker threw for 385 yards and 5 touchdowns against 1 interception. Jaylin Hyatt, Tennessee’s new No. 1 receiver in place of the injured Cedric Tillman, might have earned himself a new NIL deal with the high-profile hotel chain after recording 6 catches for 207 yards and scoring all 5 touchdowns.

In 2007, Alabama student Irvin Carvey made history with his “I hate Tennessee” video. During the rant, Carvey mentioned how Tennessee donned a ‘throw-up Orange.’

Little did he know, actual throw up might have been the biggest factor in stopping the pass rush of Alabama in Neyland Stadium Saturday afternoon.
