Ahead of BYU’s matchup with SEC foe Arkansas, Cougars’ head coach Kalani Sitake had high praise for Arkansas quarterback KJ Jefferson, (via 247Sports):
“He’s a special player. He’s big and he can fly,” Sitake said. “He has it all, so we have to be fundamentally sound assignment-wise because of the way he can punish you if you make mistakes. So, we can’t afford to make a lot of mistakes against him, because he can punish you with his arm and his legs. He makes a huge difference for their team.”
Jefferson has had a solid season despite Arkansas’s recent struggles. He has racked up 1,096 passing yards and 9 touchdowns while throwing just 1 interception. He has also picked up over 300 yards on the ground.
Arkansas started out the season 3-0, but has since lost 3 straight. The Razorbacks are looking to get back on track in the game against the Cougars in Provo, Utah, on Saturday.
