BYU pulls off wild fake field goal with double snap

BYU was doing the most during Saturday’s matchup against the UCF Knights, to put it simply.

The Cougars currently lead 17-0 in the second quarter, and some of those points came by way of one of the most unique fake field goals we have ever seen in college football. And it could hardly have been more complicated looking.

On the play, which the UCF defense clearly expected to only yield 3 points, it instead results in a BYU first down. Kicker Will Ferrin lines up for a 46-yard field goal, something that is definitely in his range considering the fact his longest field goal of the season is 54 yards.

Instead, he takes the ball and keeps it, cutting around to the right side to extend the drive for BYU and give his team a chance to put up 7 more points on the scoreboard.

Here’s a look at the play:

Ferrin has also played his traditional role well in this game, making his lone field goal attempt of the contest.

BYU had all of the momentum to that point in the game and will give UCF a lot of things to talk about in the locker room at halftime to make things competitive.
