Caleb Nix, the younger brother of Denver Broncos quarterback and former Auburn star Bo Nix, announced on his social media on Monday that he’s transferring from Clemson to Jacksonville State.

Nix is heading to the Conference USA program located in Jacksonville, Ala., to continue his college career after walking on as a safety at Clemson. He chose Jacksonville State over Appalachian State after making visits to both schools. Jacksonville State is coming off a stellar season during which it won the conference title with a 7-1 record and went 9-5 overall.

It will also be a homecoming of sorts for the Alabama native, who was a quarterback in high school like his brother and earned all-state honors while leading Central in Phenix City to the Class 7A state championship game. Nix had more than 5,400 total yards and 67 touchdowns during his prep career.

Nix is a redshirt junior and only appeared in 10 games during his time at Clemson, recording 1 assisted tackle last season against FAU. Now, he’ll be heading back to his home state in search of more playing time in Conference USA than he got in the ACC.

He took to social media to announce the big news, with his post containing the headline: “Excited to get to work!”

Here is Nix’s post:
