Cam Skattebo bulldozes Iowa State, generates Heisman buzz in Big 12 title

Cam Skattebo is having himself a day against Iowa State in the Big 12 Championship Game. The Sun Devil running back has been the most important piece of the offense all season, and after Saturday, is getting some Heisman buzz.

At the end of the third quarter, the star tailback had 16 carries for 170 yards and 2 touchdowns. Skattebo also had 2 catches for 38 yards and another touchdown. The impressive performance has helped the Sun Devils build a 45-10 lead with 1 quarter to play.

Social media was on fire talking about Skattebo and many hope to see the RB in New York City as a Heisman Trophy finalist.

Entering championship weekend, Skattebo was ninth in the country in rushing yards with 1,398. The RB is also tied for ninth in rushing TDs with 17.

Skattebo has not only been one of the nation’s best RBs but has also been a weapon in the passing game. Entering championship weekend, he was second on the Sun Devils in receptions and receiving yards. Adding in Saturday’s performance, Skattebo is up over 2,000 yards of total offense this season.

With a win now all but guaranteed, the Sun Devils will punch their ticket to the College Football Playoff as Big 12 champions. They entered the season picked to finish last in the Big 12 by league media.
