The College Football Playoff selection committee revealed its latest Top 25 on Tuesday night. Once again, the committee kept the same Top 6 of Alabama, Notre Dame, Clemson, Ohio State, Texas A&M and Florida.
There were some shakeups elsewhere in the poll, particularly involving Iowa State, Cincinnati and Coastal Carolina. Georgia moved down a spot to No. 9 while Missouri entered the rankings at No. 25.
Here’s how media members reacted on Twitter:
I'm sorry, but the Iowa State ranking is ridiculous and Coastal Carolina is a top-10 team.
Coastal has 0 losses and two wins over currently-ranked teams, including Louisiana.
Iowa State has 2 losses, one win against a currently-ranked team. Lost to Louisiana by 17.

The Sun Belt is 3-0 vs the Big 12 but somehow the committee has ranked a two loss Iowa State team six spots higher than an undefeated Coastal Carolina squad. By the way one of Iowa State’s losses was to Louisiana who only has one loss and somehow ranked 12 spots lower.

I don't mean beating Bama is easy. I mean the equation to get into the playoff is easy.
That's it. That's the only way. https://t.co/SeV8ILfeCI

Alabama remains No. 1 in CFP rankings. pic.twitter.com/w19qDQ6c42

If Alabama were to lose to Florida in the SECCG, would Alabama still get in or do you think they go with Ohio State who played six games?
Alabama has wins against CFP ranked teams A&M, UGA and Missouri.

If Florida beats Alabama and Clemson beats Notre Dame, that's my four teams

Before tonight any hope for Cincinnati – which were slim & none until slim tested positive for COVID – Bearcats chances of making @CFBPlayoff officially ended tonight

Coastal likely needs to move up two more spots to make NY6 without Cincinnati losing. Iowa State beating Oklahoma would take care of one. https://t.co/vJar4vIs8j

Honestly, what the committee has said this entire season is that Group of 5 teams have no chance. If that's the case, then just don't rank them. But stop with the charade that they are graded on the same curve of the Power 5. They clearly are not

1) Seriously … Louisiana 31, Iowa State 14 apparently never existed.
2. No, the Big 12 champion isn't getting into the College Football Playoff.

Louisiana lost to Coastal Carolina 30-27, blew out CFP darling Iowa State, and has only the 1 loss, and it's 19, BYU is at 18, and Iowa State is at 7.
(I wish I knew how to quit this Louisiana and Coastal Carolina need to be ranked higher than EVERYONE in the Big 12 fight)

Did the #CFP committee just tell Cincinnati it has no shot? Iowa State beats OU and they stay in front. OU beats Iowa State and they likely jump them.
Just reading between the lines. Maybe mis-reading.

So to sum up CFP:
Coastal/BYU swapped spots
Iowa State leapfrogged Cincy/Georgia
USC shot up five spots, CU joins the fray

Has the selection committee watched the Big 12 this year?

Buckeyes remain No. 4 in CFP rankings. Should Big Ten let it ride with OSU only playing five regular-season games and trust that the rankings hold? Or manipulate their own system yet again?

I try not to care about these midseason rankings, but Iowa State being ranked #7 is a good example of one of my most closely held tenets: A group of people locked in a room together can convince themselves of anything.

Unbeaten Coastal Carolina should've lost to the Ragin' Cajuns by 17 so the committee would respect them like Iowa State.

Good thing the CFP committee obviously views Texas A&M more favorably than the @ESPNCFB crew. Ags beat No 6 Florida and have since run off five straight SEC wins by double digits.
