Chad Baker-Mazara left an impact in Saturday’s big-time game between Auburn and Alabama, but he fouled out of the game after a video review tagged the Tiger with a Flagrant 1.
Late in the 2nd half, a video review was initiated after Baker-Mazara and Alabama’s Chris Youngblood tumbled out of bounds while tangled up. No foul was called during the live action, but the review showed Baker-Mazara made contact with Youngblood’s face with an open hand.
Whether or not Baker-Mazara intentionally swung his hand is something that will undoubtedly be debated. What isn’t debatable is that Baker-Mazara did make contact across Youngblood’s face, drawing a Flagrant 1 following the review. It was the 5th personal foul on Baker-Mazara.

That was not the only moment that Baker-Mazara was involved in during the game. At one point, he tumbled into the first row of Alabama fans, and the player and fans exchanged some words in a tense exchange afterward.
Before fouling out, Baker-Mazara had 15 points off the bench for the Tigers, including a 2-for-3 shooting effort from 3-point range. Losing Baker-Mazara did not impact the final outcome with the Tigers weathering the storm for a 94-85 win to grab sole possession of first place in the league standings.
