Chase Daniel went undrafted out of Mizzou in the 2009 NFL Draft. But, that hasn’t stopped him from carving out a long, successful NFL career as a backup.
Daniel has served as the backup for Washington, New Orleans, Kansas City, Philadelphia, Chicago, Detroit and now, the Los Angeles Chargers.
After spending the 2021 season as Justin Herbert’s primary backup in Los Angeles, Daniel is coming back for the 2022 season, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter:

A 1-year, $2.25 million contract is a good one for both Daniel and the Chargers, as he’s an experienced veteran who has worked with a number of top quarterbacks around the league.
Daniel was a member of the New Orleans Saints’ Super Bowl team. In his 13-year career, Daniel has thrown for 1,694 yards, 8 touchdowns and 7 interceptions.
