Former Alabama DB Eddie Jackson has officially signed his first contract with the Chicago Bears.
The Bears announced they had signed their fourth-round pick on the team Twitter account.

Chicago did not reveal the terms of Jackson’s contract at the times, though fourth-round picks typically get little in terms of money upfront. The Bears may be getting a relative bargain depending on Jackson’s health. They obviously believe he can recover from the broken leg that sidelined him the final seven games of 2016. Chicago traded up to Jackson at No. 112 overall.
At Alabama, Jackson was one of the leaders of the Crimson Tide secondary before suffering the injury against Texas A&M in October. Missing the last seven games season undoubtedly caused his draft stock to dip. In eight games, Jackson had a pick-six, 24 tackles (three per game) and 2.5 tackles for loss, as well as two punt-return touchdowns.
Nick Saban recently raved about Jackson to the Chicago Tribune.
“He was an A-plus in every regard in our program,” Saban said. “I hated for him that he had a little bad luck with the injury this year. But I certainly think (the Bears) got him at a value, probably, because of that.”
