The Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl helps bring in a massive amount of money to Atlanta
Now a full-fledged member of college football’s New Year’s Six bowl game rotation every postseason, the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl has been able to host four of the nation’s elite teams the last two bowl seasons and brought a ton of money to Atlanta around New Year’s.
Just how much money does the bowl game generate for the area? According to the Atlanta Business Chronicle, the 2015 game between Houston and Florida State helped to generate $41.8 million worth of economic impact.
Considering the Chick-fil-A Peach bowl will host a national semifinal in the College Football Playoff in 2016 and will switch over to the new $1.4 billion dollar Atlanta Falcons stadium — called the Mercedes-Benz Stadium — starting in the 2017 season, those figures only look to rise in the near future.
