Chris Doering raves about the atmosphere in The Swamp during win over Utah

Former Florida wide receiver and current analyst Chris Doering had high praises for Florida after attending the Gators’ win over Utah at The Swamp on Saturday.

“The Swamp was the old Swamp,” Doering said. “It was what I used to play in.”

Florida defeated No. 7 Utah 29-26 Saturday night after Utah threw an interception on the final drive of the game, taking away any chances of a game-tying field goal.

Doering, who played for the Gators from 1992 to 1995, said he saw a trust between the coaches and the players that didn’t exist last season. He said the atmosphere inside the Swamp was on par with how it was when he played.

The win for the Gators comes after an offseason full of doubt. Florida ended last season with a 6-7 record and parted ways with head coach Dan Mullen.

Florida already seems to be back on track, picking up a big first win.
