Being selected in the NFL Draft is always exciting, but the press conferences that follow are sometimes a real buzzkill.
NFL draft picks are often advised by their agents to not do or say anything that could be construed in a negative light. “Stick to the script.”
After all, the last thing you want to do is embarrass the team that just drafted you and is getting ready to negotiate a contract with you, right?
Well, former Mississippi State DT Chris Jones has simply been himself after being drafted in the second round by the Kansas City Chiefs on Friday.
First, he showed off his dance move and bear hugged NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell to the delight of the crowd in Chicago.
Then, he delivered a press conference performance that left the media raving. Here are some of the highlights:
Chris Jones: "I told the commissioner I didn't mean to hit him that hard."
