The Cincinnati Bengals announced their practice squad on Thursday.  DT Tyler Shelvin and TE Thaddeus Moss, both former LSU Tigers, made the cut.

Shelvin won a national championship in 2019 with LSU, and was drafted by the Bengals in the fourth round of the 2021 NFL Draft. As rookie, Shelvin played 49 snaps, and took part in the team’s divisional round win over the Titans. The former Tiger also suited up in the Bengals’ AFC championship win against the Chiefs. The Bengals had previously announced Shelvin’s release on Tuesday, before inking a deal for the DT to join the practice squad.

Shelvin will be joined on the practice squad by TE Thaddeus Moss, another LSU alum. Moss, the son of Hall of Fame WR Randy Moss, was instrumental in LSU’s win in the 2019 title game. The TE caught two touchdowns in the championship, and his two scores allowed quarterback and 2019 Heisman Trophy winner Joe Burrow to break the NCAA single season record for touchdown passes.

If Shelvin and Moss are elevated to the active roster, they would be reunited with former LSU icons Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase. That’s something all Tiger fans, LSU and Bengals alike, would like to see take place up in Cincinnati.
