Clemson is the last team standing in the way from a 27-game winning streak and a fifth national championship for Nick Saban at Alabama, including the second in as many years.

Last season, the Tigers lost in the title game, 45-40, after allowing 24 points in the fourth quarter in what was easily one of the more exciting championship finishes in recent memory.

During Saturday’s media day press conference, Clemson coach Dabo Swinney told reporters that his team was the only one out of the other 127 FBS programs in the country that is capable of dethroning the Crimson Tide.

Last week, Clemson looked dominant against Ohio State, winning 31-0 while holding the Buckeyes to 215 yards of offense and nine first downs.

But the Tigers looked vulnerable at times throughout the 2016 regular season, beating Troy, NC State, and Virginia Tech by seven points or less and suffering a loss to Pittsburgh at home.

Alabama (14-0) enters Monday night’s 8 p.m. ET matchup as a 6.5-point favorite to win its 14th title (recognized by the NCAA) in program history.
