To no surprise, the Cleveland Browns have officially announced that they’ve parted ways with former Texas A&M star quarterback Johnny Manziel.

Manziel, who was the No. 22 overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, has spent more time in the tabloids than on the football field; he posted 1,675 passing yards, eight touchdowns (one rushing) and seven interceptions with a 79.4 QB rating in just eight starts.
Despite some intrugiguing moments of serious potential as a successful starting quarterback in the NFL, seemingly countless off-field issues had derailed any chances of the Browns retaining Manziel for the 2016 season and beyond.
Cleveland is now down to three roster quarterbacks: Josh McCown, Austin Davis, and Connor Shaw.
Manziel won the 2012 Heisman Trophy Award with Texas A&M in a season that saw him produce 5,116 total yards of offense and 47 touchdowns. When (and if) he clears waivers on Monday at 4 p.m. EST, he’ll become an unrestricted free agent.
