Oregon, Georgia, Penn State, Ohio State, Miami and Texas all held firm in their placements from last week.
The main change came in the form of LSU dropping to No. 16, which vaulted Tennessee, Clemson and Notre Dame up the rankings. Following its win over the Bayou Bengals, Texas A&M took up the first spot outside of the top 10.
Alabama moved up a spot following its shutout win over Missouri, who fell to No. 23.
Ole Miss was the only other SEC team to appear in the poll, as the Rebels held firm at the No. 18 spot following their 26-14 win over Oklahoma.
Navy (24) and Vanderbilt (25) dropped out of the rankings, which allowed Washington State and Memphis to join the fray as one-loss playoff hopefuls.
All-in-all, eight SEC teams were slotted into the rankings, although only three top 10 teams is a season-low for the conference.
