The USA TODAY Coaches Poll was released shortly after the conclusion of Saturday Week 2 action, and saw a total of 8 teams from the Southeastern Conference land within it.
Those teams were Georgia (1), Texas (3), Alabama (4), Ole Miss (5). Missouri (8), Tennessee (9), Oklahoma (13), and LSU (17). There were other teams from the Southeastern Conference who also received votes, including Texas A&M and South Carolina.
It was unsurprising to see Georgia hold onto the top spot after the way the Bulldogs dominated Clemson in the first game of the season and with how they only allowed 3 points out of Tennessee Tech, even if it was deemed to be a lesser opponent.
There was some movement, though, as Missouri rose 2 spots, Tennessee jumped 3 spots and LSU went up 2 spots.
